Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality regional wines. Birgit Braunstein’s family has been growing vines next to Lake Neusiedl (Neusiedlersee) in Burgenland, Eastern Austria for 400 years. She works organically and biodynamically across a wide range of terroirs, and her wines – alive with pure fruit, precision and elegance – reflect this natural balance.

She farms 22 hectares in the Burgenland, near the shores of the Neusiedlersee, where she grows a mix of Austrian and international varietals, following biodynamic principles. The soils are complex with gneiss, mica, slate, chalky limestone, marl and clay all to be found across her different vineyards. In the winery Birgit has worked with Adriana Gonzalez the only woman cellar master in Burgenland since 2008. All wines are naturally fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur additions.

This Pinot Blanc is Burgundian in style with typical almond character and ripe fruit notes. In addition, you will find it balanced with a long finish and a great alternative to Chardonnay. Best enjoyed lightly chilled.
