Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality Italian regional wines. Personally speaking, I think a good Barbera d’Alba is a great value for money wine and also a good alternative to the more prestigious (and expensive) wines of the region such as Barolo and Barbaresco, yet with softer tannins. Vietti’s “Tre Vigne” is one of the best examples around and is made from 100% local Barbera grapes grown on the slopes of Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont, North-west Italy. The vineyards have been tended by the Vietti family for more than four generations, who continue to respect the land and make their expressive wines with passion and integrity. This Barbera wine is well-structured yet elegant and fruity with rustic charm. Best enjoyed with food and in a convivial atmosphere.
