Description

Roving Sommelier loves premium quality sparkling wines from around the world. Even better when these expressive wines are made with love and care at home within the UK. For me, they’re ideal for those who prefer their sparkling wines to be playful yet serious and perfect for parties and celebrations.

Family-owned vineyard Ridgeview, based near Ditchling in Sussex, produce their wines from grapes grown principally on the chalk South Downs of Southern England. Using traditional French winemaking techniques and state of the art winemaking technology, their wines are a perfect expression of the Englishness of their terroir. The Bloomsbury cuvée is made up of a signature blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Bloomsbury is a pale golden colour with a fine persistent mousse. The nose is fresh but complex with citrus, peach and brioche. Chardonnay brings finesse and length to the palate, whilst Pinot grapes add depth and weight.

Best enjoyed well-chilled with or without food and in a convivial atmosphere.
