Quinta do Vallado, Tawny Reserva Port, Douro, Portugal

Out of stock

Roving Sommelier loves fortified wines, especially traditionally produced ports from the iconic Douro Valley in Portugal. Quinta do Vallado is located in the heart of the Douro Valley and has belonged to many generations of the Ferreira family since 1716. The family are also descendants of Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira. Tawny Port, which has normally spent longer in oak casks, hence its name, has an elegant flavour with aromas of dried fruits and spices. What’s more, I love the versatility of an aged tawny because not only can you enjoy it with a platter of artisan cheeses, but also it’s perfect lightly-chilled with desserts or chocolate.
