Roving Sommelier loves premium quality sparkling and pink wines from around the world. Even better when these expressive wines are made with love and care. For me, they’re ideal for those who prefer their sparkling wines to be playful yet serious. They are perfect alternatives to traditional Champagne for parties and festivities. Quartz Reef Methode Traditionelle is probably one of my favourite New World sparkling wines. I’m a big fan of wine maker Rudi Bauer and I genuinely believe that the cool microclimate of Central Otago is one of the best terroirs outside Champagne to make top quality, premium ‘traditional method’ sparkling wines.
Quartz Reef grapes are single estate grown from our Demeter New Zealand certified biodynamic and sun-drenched pioneer Bendigo vineyard. They are hand-harvested and made in a traditional manner to reflect the true expression of the vineyard and the Central Otago region. Our wines are made to capture and entertain with a symphony of flavours. Focused, fresh and crisp with a beautiful balance and length. Best enjoyed well-chilled with or without food and in a convivial atmosphere.
