Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality regional wines, especially those from the Iberian Peninsula. Monção’s Winery was founded in 1958 thanks to the initiative of 25 vine growers. It is located in the middle of the “Vinhos Verdes” region in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço, on the Portuguese-Spanish border. The wine is a blend of Alvarinho and Trajadura grapes, hence its name – Trajarinho.

The wine is crisp, delicate, and fresh with lovely, subtle, and fragrant fruity and floral aromas. What is more, this exceptional quality Vinho Verde is slightly spritzy, extremely refreshing and lower in alcohol, which makes it a great aperitif wine. Best enjoyed chilled in a convivial atmosphere and with seafood dishes.
