2019 Saumur-Champigny, “Thierry Germain”, Domaine des Roches Neuves, Loire Valley, France

Description
Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality French regional wines. Personally speaking, I think a good well-made Loire Valley Cabernet Franc can be equally as rewarding as a fine claret or Burgundy and also great value for money.
Established by Thierry Germain at the tender age of 23 in Varrains in the appellation of Saumur-Champigny in the Loire Valley, Domaine des Roches Neuves farms its vines using biodynamic principles. Here the team strongly believe that biodynamics is not a method of cultivation, it is a method of openness that can only be conceived if the team takes ownership and gets involved.
The 2019 Saumur-Champigny red is produced from grapes grown using biodynamic winegrowing methods and is a fresh and fragrant red wine with supple tannins. The average age of the Cabernet Franc vines is 25 years old and all grapes have been hand-harvested. A wine that gives pleasure and can be enjoyed any time of the day and for any occasion, even lightly chilled in warm weather. This Cabernet Franc wine is well-structured yet elegant and fruity with peppery rustic charm. Best enjoyed with food and in a convivial atmosphere.
