Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality Australian regional wines. Leeuwin Estate is many wine lovers’ favourite Aussie winery and has developed a fine reputation internationally, especially with connoisseurs of Margaret River vineyards and for top-notch Bordeaux blend reds. The now-iconic Leeuwin Estate was established in the early 1970s by Dennis Horgan, who allegedly according to wine folklore, was advised by Robert Mondavi to plant grapes in the Margaret River. The rest, as they say, is history. The “Art Series” Cabernet Sauvignon has become an Australian classic, and the “Art Series” Chardonnay is arguably one of the country’s finest premium Chardonnays. Leeuwin Estate is all about quality, and with the “Art Series” range, it is nothing but the best of the best. The cool climate and gravels soils produce grapes of outstanding quality. What is more, Margaret River, as well as being one of the best locations for fine Aussie Chardonnay, has also become synonymous with fine Bordeaux-esque reds. This one has evolved beautifully and is a very memorable wine that deserves to be enjoyed on very special occasions with sumptuous food.

I suggest you decant this wine at least one hour before service. Best enjoyed with red meats and game dishes and in a convivial atmosphere.
