Description

Named in honour of Agnes Seifried, co-founder and matriarch of Seifried Estate in Nelson, comes New Zealand’s most awarded dessert wine with a staggering 17 trophies and 47 gold medals since its inaugural vintage.

It was in 1973 when Agnes and her Austrian born husband Hermann planted their first vineyard on the clay loam soils of the Moutere Valley in Nelson, the tip of New Zealand’s South Island.

Using 100% Riesling, the grapes in “Sweet Agnes” are hand selected late in the season with a large portion of the fruit shrivelled and raisined caused by natural dehydration. The delicate grapes are then gently pressed to release the intensely concentrated juice. Seifried’s “Sweet Agnes” Riesling is truly a New Zealand classic and has gone on to be regarded as an iconic dessert wine that should be on any wine lovers’ bucket list.

Alcohol: 11.5% abv (37.5cl)
