Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality New Zealand regional wines. Domaine Thomson is a small, family wine producer with vineyards and homes in Central Otago, New Zealand and Gevrey Chambertin, France. Owners PM and David Hall-Jones are dedicated to making Pinot Noir, which is reflective of its terroir, in two hemispheres.

The Domaine Thomson Explorer Pinot Noir is grown at their 14-hectare vineyard in the Lowburn sub-region of Central Otago. Made with grapes from the “Moonblock” (altitude 295 metres) Explorer wines are fruit focused with gentle tannins, easily accessible in their youth and show elegance and harmony.

Best drunk with roast meats, game, and poultry such as lamb, venison, pheasant, partridge, guineafowl, and duck. This wine will probably cellar well for up to 10 years from vintage.
