Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality wines. Domaine Drouhin is many Burgundy wine lovers’ favourite vigneron and has developed a fine reputation and cult status internationally, especially with connoisseurs of iconic vineyards and lovers of fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

In 1987, Burgundy’s Maison Joseph Drouhin established DDO (Domaine Drouhin Oregon) in the Dundee Hills, a small growing region in the Willamette Valley, thirty miles southwest of Portland. Fourth generation winemaker Véronique Boss-Drouhin and her brother, viticulturalist Philippe Drouhin, are responsible for the high quality that is produced in Oregon. I started following DDO around 20 years ago, when I met Véronique Boss-Drouhin at a wine tasting in London, and I have enjoyed their ethereal Pinot Noir and expressive Chardonnay wines ever since.

“Our Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is a wine of superb balance, elegance, and finesse. It is lovely upon release and has a history of ageing well.”

Best enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere.
