Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality Australian regional wines. The Tahbilk story began in 1860 with the founding of the Estate and original vineyards. Purchased by Reginald Purbrick in 1925, five generations of the family have been actively involved in Tahbilk bringing a tradition of pride, hard work and a love of good wine to the unique heritage of being the oldest family owned winery and vineyard in Victoria, Australia.

2017 Shiraz – Reflecting the traditional red wine making methods employed across the generations, this 2017 Estate Shiraz release was fermented in large open oak vats and then matured in large and small, primarily French, oak barrels. Varietally expressive with ample plum and blackberry fruits, there is a warm earth and spicy savouriness that immediately appeals with a backbone of fine, sinewy tannins to see an extended cellaring potential out to 2030 plus.

Best enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere with roasted or char-grilled meats and game dishes.
