Description

Roving Sommelier is passionate about premium quality Australian regional wines. Established in 1970, Skillogalee takes its name from a thin Gaelic porridge or gruel used by early 1840’s explorer John Horrocks for survival. Located in the Clare Valley, Skillogalee has now created an iconic reputation, known especially for their highly aromatic Rieslings and flavoursome Shiraz reds.

This hand-crafted, unfined red wine was made in open fermenters and gently basket pressed, resulting in a wine with fruit intensity and structural finesse. Maturation in quality oak hogsheads has achieved further harmony and complexity.

This full-bodied red wine will reward careful cellaring for a minimum of ten years from vintage. Best enjoyed at room temperature and decanted one hour before service, and with red meats and game dishes in a convivial atmosphere. Suitable for vegans.
